Complicated and uncomfortable, X7e4 reflects the complexity and breakage of our time. It brings together anxiety, adversity, hope, ire, frustration, grief, and recognition, often changing quickly, and at times in contradictory unison. It’s not a comfortable place to be, but part of a journey. Ranging from urgent off-kilter dissonant rhythms to glitched arrangements of opposition to intense industrial soundscapes to dark ambient textures, X7e4 is an electronic soundscape of entangled aspiration and disarray.

The rhythms on this album are tight and driving, constantly setting a scene of intense action with brief pauses. Each track maintains the pace without ever really letting up, even on somewhat slower tracks such as "Arcane Attractor." I can only hope that Malarki builds on this sound and gives us another fantastic EP like this. Fringes of Sound
